Here at SAS Publishing, we’ve started the new year off with a bang, particularly when it comes to conferences. We’re attending a number of new shows in addition to the usual lineup this year. Visit our booth, meet our authors, check out our new and forthcoming titles, and talk with an acquisitions editor about that book you’ve been thinking about writing. Whatever your goals, we hope to see you at one of these shows!
Statistical Practice 2012
February 16-18 - Orlando, FL
Brand new year, brand new conference. Acquisitions editor Shelley Sessoms will be on hand to talk about potential book topics, including Bayesian Analysis, Cluster Analysis, Power and Sample Size, Reliability Analysis, Structural Equations, and Survey Sampling and Analysis.
Predictive Analytics World
March 5-7 - San Francisco, CA
THE show for analytics professionals worldwide. Shelley will be looking for new authors on such topics as Predictive Analytics & Data Mining, Data Visualization, Forecasting & Econometrics, Operations Research, Quality Improvement, and Text Analytics.
Eastern North American Region Spring Meeting
April 1-4 - Washington, DC
Shelley will be attending this show (notice a trend here?) for the first time. Are you a regular attendee? Think you’ve got a book in you? Make sure to stop by and introduce yourself!
SAS Global Forum
April 22-25 - Orlando, FL
Editor-in-chief Julie Platt and Shelley Sessoms will be ready to tell you about new books and helpful resources. A number of our authors will also be hanging out in the booth throughout the show.
May 13-16 - San Francisco, CA
John West won last week’s cage match for this one, so look for him in the SAS Publishing booth.
Joint Statistical Meeting
July 28-August 2 - San Diego, CA
We’re not sure who’ll be our rep at JSM this year, but either way we’ll be ready to recruit authors on a number of new stat book topics.
September 5-7 - Long Beach, CA
John West will be back at WUSS again this year.
JMP Discovery Summit
September 10-14 - Cary, NC
On-site here at our headquarters. A great opportunity to see the campus!
September 16-18 - Minneapolis, MN
One of Shelley’s New Year’s resolutions is to this earn enough frequent flyer miles to make it to her dream destination of Italy. We have to help her out, right?
October 8-9 - Las Vegas, NV
Acquisitions editor Stacey Hamilton is a big Elvis fan so of course she’ll be headed to Las Vegas. Look for her at the Analytics conference and then at PBLS.
October 10-11 - Las Vegas, NV
October 14-16 - Raleigh, NC
George McDaniel will be making the arduous trek from Cary to Raleigh (all 10 miles of it). Maybe he’ll run, bike, or hike the route—he’s into that sort of thing.
INFORMS Annual Meeting
October 14-17 - Phoenix, AZ
This is the largest industry conference we’ll be attending this year, and Shelley’s looking forward to talking with close to 5,000 analytics and operations research professionals. Note to Shelley: Order more business cards.
November 4-6 - Houston, TX
Shelley’s headed to the Lone Star State to meet up with SCSUG members. This is your last chance to meet her before 2013, so be sure to stop by and say hello.
November 11-14 - Baltimore, MD
Stacey Hamilton finishes up the year for us at NESUG in Baltimore. Talk to her about our Wiley and SAS Business Series books or Silvio—both are guaranteed to be stimulating conversations.
And that’s it—phew. We’re looking forward to meeting all of you and hearing what kinds of books and book topics you need, so be sure to stop by our booth at any of these shows. Let’s talk!
