SAS introduces the blended classroom

0

the blended classroomWe all have different learning styles. Some learn best by seeing and doing; others by listening to lectures in a traditional classroom; still others simply by diving in and asking questions along the way. Traditional face-to-face classroom instruction, real-time classes over the Internet, or self-paced instruction with exercises, SAS Education offer learning opportunities that match your learning style, helping you to focus on the material and learn efficiently.

For me and many of our users, classroom instruction is my favorite. You become steeped in the concepts and functionality the class covers. You have questions? You get immediate answers from subject matter experts. You find an algorithm or approach unfamiliar? A knowledgeable teacher is there to guide you to your goals. However, students are telling us more and more that spending two or three days away from their desks to attend a class is becoming increasingly difficult. They simply can’t afford the time away from the office or have limited training budgets.

We hear you. Enter our new blended class format. The blended format offers the best of face-to-face classes combined with the flexibility of a self-paced approach. Students receive:

  • One day of classroom instruction, where the instructor will cover foundation content and trickier concepts.
  • A full course materials package including course notes and instructor videos.
  • Access to the learning lab for 60 days, to work through exercises and practice content.
  • A common forum to get answers to questions and interact with fellow students.
  • A live, wrap-up session with the instructor, to tie up any loose ends and confirm understanding of the topics covered.

Survival Data Mining Training

We are rolling out the new format of instruction with two advanced courses on survival data mining.

Survival Data Mining: A Programming Approach is an advanced course that uses SAS/STAT software to illustrate various survival data mining methods and their practical implementation. Survival Data Mining Using SAS Enterprise Miner is an advanced course that uses SAS Enterprise Miner to illustrate survival data mining methods and their practical implementation.

Our new blended classes provide quality analytics education that flexes to your requirements and schedule. I hope to see you in a blended class soon.
