Ailish Jamieson
Technology has grown at lightning speed over the past few decades, which until now has allowed a false sense of security for offenders. Our police forces are getting smarter and faster. There is nowhere for offenders to hide. Their knock from the police will be coming soon.
From a young age, Ailish has felt a strong sense of social justice and sought ways to create a more just society. Whether that was attending protests or taking a stand on matters that mean a lot to her, a solid stance on ethics and integrity led her to HR over a decade ago. During this time, she developed commercial awareness and learned how SAS can make a difference sociologically. Opening up about her experiences has given her the priceless feeling of closure and control, as she turned a traumatic experience into a positive one by helping make a difference. With more than 13 years in HR, Ailish has always championed better working lives and takes pride in meeting a business’ financial goals by creating high-performing teams.
Her work on the CSE online investigation tool is not traditional or probably expected in a typical corporate context. On March 17th, 2021, while employed at SAS, Ailish heard knocking on her door and opened it to a dozen plain-clothed police officers holding a search warrant. Her now ex-partner, who was living with Ailish and her 8-year-old child, was arrested for downloading indecent images of children. It shook her to the core. A problem solver by nature, she saw an opportunity to use her experience to inform products at SAS that help tackle the growing issue of child exploitation online. She is proud that SAS has recognized this issue and is taking action to support our police forces in ending child abuse globally.
