It's that time of year again where I get to blend together a holiday song with analytics. This is the eighth year running and the 11th song. For 2021, I decided to take on a more modern holiday song, Arianna Grande's Winter Things.

Data Science Things

SQL and reporting ain’t data science, not where I’m from
Prediction and forecasting takes analytics in order to shine
SQL queries don’t get no love, basic visualization and reporting, not even a chance
But AI in the cloud gonna let us do some data science things

Hey-oh, I wanna pretend we’re in the virtual world
Turning the data into information all-day
Made not just for me and my colleagues
Ooh-no, no, no
Ooh-no, no, no
My AI in the cloud gonna let us do some data science things for everyone

Give us all the data and put it in the cloud (no, no, no to the data center)
Even though it’s big data, we gotta get results out, ohh yeah
Ain’t no time to wait, no PC or on-site server will do, most of our competitors are all using their clouds
But AI in the cloud gonna let us do some data science things, hey yeah

Hey-oh, I wanna pretend we’re in the virtual world
Turning the data into information all-day
Made not just for me and my colleagues
Ooh-no, no, no
Ooh-no, no, no
My AI is in the cloud gonna let us do some data science things for everyone

Just imagine that we’re laughing
In our offices, chilling with our AR
Even though the data is streaming
We can share results if we just visualize them via some interactive dashboard

Hey-oh, I wanna pretend we’re in the virtual world
Turning the data into information all-day
Made not just for me and my colleagues
Ooh-no, no, no
Ooh-no, no, no
My AI in the cloud gonna do some data science things useful for everyone

By the way, if you are interested in doing trying some AI in a cloud and doing some of your own data science things useful for everyone consider registering to be part of our 2022 SAS Hackathon today.
