Our Culture Code: Employee Well-being

0

Now more than ever, as the lines blur between work and life, employee well-being affects how we thrive in our work and personal lives. At SAS, we believe that prioritizing the well-being of our people is the right thing to do for our employees, and it also makes sense from a business perspective. We know that happy, healthy people who have a passionate engagement with life bring that same energy to work and vice versa. That’s why we support and nurture several dimensions of employees’ well-being, including:

  • Effectively managing stress and developing resilience to support mental health.
  • Optimizing physical health and wellness.
  • Developing meaningful connections and relationships.
  • Expanding knowledge and skills to create personal satisfaction, enrichment and professional growth.
  • Managing finances to achieve economic stability and financial peace of mind.
  • Fostering connections between our own lives, our communities and our environment.

Whether you’re a recent grad, a new parent or navigating life as an empty nester or caregiver, we seek to support employees’ unique well-being needs by offering programs that reduce stress and distractions to help our people remain healthy and productive.

Our onsite Health Care Center provides excellent and convenient care for SAS employees and their families.

A few of our most-loved well-being resources include…

  • An annual well-being account to support employees’ unique well-being needs.
  • Work/Life center that offers a broad range of services and programs, all designed to help employees maintain peace of mind and overall life balance. Four master's level trained SocialWorkers provide individual consultations, host seminars and lead programming to support employees on everything ranging from parenting and elder care to planning for college to financial planning, divorce/separation, conflict resolution and more– all for free.
  • Employee Assistance Program that offers employees and family members up to 8 free counseling sessions each year.
  • A full-service onsite Health Care Center and Pharmacy.
  • Recreation and Fitness Center complete with a fitness center and classes, natatorium, tennis courts, walking trails and much, much more.
  • Onsite cafés serving healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options – and dinner to-go, too!
  • Employee Inclusion Groups.
  • Career Development Programs.
  • Financial well-being resources, including a generous 401k plan and consultations with Fidelity.
  • Volunteer time off.
  • And much, much more!

Centered around employees

Over the years, our well-being offerings have evolved organically, with employees at the center. By investing in our people, our employees are more engaged, focused and productive – which positively impacts business results.

In addition to having happier and healthier employees, our unique approach to employee well-being has led to…

  • Lower turnover rates
  • Increased tenure
  • Recognition by organizations including Fast Company, Forbes, Top Employer, Human Rights Campaign, Disability:IN and NC Tech
  • Year-over-year revenue growth

At the end of the day, happy employees stay longer, are more engaged at work and develop lasting relationships with our customers and communities – which leads to greater success for our company. One employee says, “Since joining SAS four years ago, my well-being and work/life balance have both improved significantly. My productivity at SAS is at a career high. My work is important and valued by my colleagues, leaders and customers.”

But don’t just take our word for it – our people have amazing stories to tell. Search for #saslife on LinkedIn to hear from our employees firsthand about life at SAS, and check out open roles.
