Batting Lab

With the recent opening of the SAS Batting Lab, kids are learning how to improve their data literacy while playing a sport they love. In a male-dominated field, it’s important for girls to start practicing data literacy at an early age, so they can have an equal opportunity to join the field if they choose.

SAS Explore

SAS Explore, a new global experience for technologists, is coming up, and Women in Analytics (WIA) will certainly be taking part. At SAS Explore, you can participate in innovative keynotes, breakout sessions, product demos by SAS experts, hands-on training, partner stories and real-world technology applications. Also, keep your eye out for a session from the WIA team!

Hackathon

The WIA hackathon team contributed to making the world a better place this year. Over 100 Hackathon teams participated, and difficult decisions were made to pick a winner. Although the WIA hackathon team was not a winner in a specific category, their contribution used SAS® Viya® to forecast outcomes to see the long-term effects of fuel sources in relation to climate change.

Women’s Soccer

The Canadian WIA team had the pleasure to host some clients from top financial organizations in Canada. Attendees enjoyed an evening of socializing at the BMO Field and enjoying a friendly match between Canada’s and South Korea’s National Women’s soccer teams.
