Live blogging debrief

What did everyone think of the Cover it Live posts below? I'd love to hear your honest opinions, since I'm still weighing the pros and cons. It was a handy tool and made live blogging very simple. I think the posts themselves are hard to read though, and I don't think the content is searchable.

Would it be worth it for me to do a post-conference recap that pulled out some of the best pieces from those posts? I know it's not easy for most readers to scroll down through all of the notes inside the Cover it Live window after the event.

What else can I tell you about the conference? Is there anything you want to hear more about? Please offer your suggestions before I start turning my notes into individual blog posts.

For background: I talked to journalists, keynote presenters, SAS customers and a lot of SAS employees. Since it's of particular interest to me, I made a point to talk to everyone about social media and how they're planning to use blogs, social networks, personalized content, rss and other 2.0 technologies at their companies.

I missed some of the keynotes I wanted to attend, but I learned a lot about the tourism and telecommunications industries and other areas that I didn't know much about before.

Does any of this sound interesting to you? Or would you rather hear about the light show at the Bellagio?

If you're not comfortable with answering these or other questions in the comment area, I'm always happy to receive ideas and advice via email. Just send a note to alison [dot]bolen [at]sas [dot]com.

I like the Cover It Live posts. Similar to Twitter and other micro-blogging tools. Easy to use at event like PBLS. I was not able to attend all the sessions as I was a sponsor and had to man the booth. However tools like this make it great for someone to quickly review what they missed and investigate further if they want more info. Good Work!!

  2. Thanks, Brian. I was so busy covering talks and interviewing attendees that I didn't have time to make it to the booths! Send us a report on what went on there if you have one :).
