Craving Pi? Enjoy a healthier slice

Pi Day is upon us! Every year on March 14, math-lovers unite to celebrate all things pi because the date (written 3/14 in the US) matches the first three digits of pi, 3.14.

If you’re trying to dust off the cobwebs from grade school geometry, pi (π) is a mathematical constant used to describe the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi is all around us, even if we don’t realize it. It’s special to SAS and our technology; it's used in engineering and construction; it describes the motion of waves in the ocean and those that allow us to communicate wirelessly; and it’s the foundation of GPS (the Earth is a sphere after all). Circles are everywhere!
