A Shot in the Arm - Jason Burke on Health and Life Sciences

David Handelsman is responsible for coordinating SAS’ strategic approach to the life sciences research and development markets, especially as it pertains to bringing new therapies to market. This work includes identifying new investment opportunities, launching new solutions, positioning existing solutions for market uptake and working directly with customers in ensuring SAS’ success in this market segment.

Prior to joining SAS, Dave worked as the Senior Director of Analysis and Database Programming at ClinTrials Research, and held a number of positions at PRA International. At these CROs, Dave had the opportunity to work with many customers, and across many projects, providing a broad background that gives him unique insight for his current job responsibilities.  Dave is a frequent industry speaker and author, and in 2008 presented papers at the CDISC Interchange, SAS Global Forum, PharmaSUG, DIA and SCDM.  These presentations cover both business and scientific aspects of the clinical research process, and primarily focus on how SAS’ analytics can shape and optimize these processes. Key solutions that Dave has spoken about include SAS Drug Development, SAS Clinical Data Integration and SAS Patient Safety.
