We are a few months away from SAS Global Forum in Orlando. You might think that the conference kicks off Sunday night at opening session, but there are plenty of weekend activities before then and I’d like to highlight one of them: SAS certification exam sessions. Isn’t now a great time to get a credential to validate your SAS skills?
Think about it: we’re still a few months away from SAS Global Forum. That means there is plenty of time between now and then to prepare for an exam, and we have lots of resources to help. On February 8, 2017 we hosted a free Getting started with SAS Certification webinar to introduce users to the program and gave some tips on exam preparation. We also recently updated our certification web page with enhanced study guides for every credential that provide extra detail about the exam topics.
We are rolling out new practice exams for the credentials too, and have recently posted new practice exams for Base Programming and for Platform Administration, in addition to the four practice exams for the Data Science credentials. Your exam prep will ensure that you hit the SAS Global Forum sessions in a great SAS groove. If you decide to take a test, you won’t be alone. At SAS Global Forum 2016, more than 75 people took an exam (some even took more than one!).
There are two exam sessions from which to choose. The first one occurs on Saturday afternoon, with a second testing session available early Sunday morning. You can use the remainder of the day in Orlando to be a tourist after your exam or catch some of the great pre-conference tutorials on Sunday. And if that’s not enough incentive – we have discounted the exams 50% AND we will have our snazzy new SAS Certification lapel pins (see picture, banana for scale), modeled after our social media friendly digital badges. Your pin will be a great conversation starter during the conference!
So, if you are up to the challenge, hit up our registration page and sign up for an exam at SAS Global Forum.
See you there!

Is there a way to get one of those cool SAS Certification lapel pins, even though I was unable to make the Global Forum?
Pins are largely reserved for face-to-face events where we get a chance to meet-up with our certified peeps. Maybe we'll get a chance to meet someday at a future conference or other SAS event.
That sounds great! Yet another reason to get to one of the SAS conferences.
