The SAS Championship was on the line. With Padraig Harrington holding a slim two-stroke lead, Sunday’s final round promised to be a heart-pounding affair.

Jerry Kelly stormed out of the gate on the final day, carding birdie after birdie. As the tension mounted, the match hung in the balance. The final hole would decide it all, as both men were tied as Harrington teed off on the final hole. After a tough miss for Harrington on the 18th green, Kelly’s lead was re-established, and a 5-under-par final round was enough to crown him the 2024 SAS Championship winner.

Jerry Kelly

What a finish, and what a week it was! Perfect weather and world-class golf welcomed patrons to the SAS Championship at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, North Carolina. Employees, customers and partners enjoyed a variety of events, including Pro-Ams, mixology demonstrations, gourmet dining, the HBCU Invitational, Food Truck Friday, and the Fairway to Fun family event. Of course, the centerpiece of the week was the three-day competition featuring legendary PGA golfers. Let’s take a look at some highlights.

SAS Championship

Jerry Kelly captured his second SAS Championship title in seven opportunities. He joins Bruce Lietzke (’01,’02), Russ Cochran (’10,’13) and Bernhard Langer (’12,’18) as the only PGA TOUR Champions golfers to win the event multiple times. Since 1996, Kelly has amassed 21 professional wins including 12 on the PGA TOUR Champions, and this latest victory will add to this impressive trophy room. Congratulations on an outstanding performance!
