Cyndi Schnupper is a Director of R&D in the Release Engineering department at SAS.

What are you working on right now?

We are working on getting 9.2 Platform out the door. We are also busy shipping new software through our electronic software download process.

What are you reading?

I tend to read fiction to relax. I’ve recently enjoyed books by David Baldacci and Jodi Picoult. I’ve also read books my kids will like, including Artemis Fowl, Pendragon and Harry Potter. I also read the books on leadership and management selected by the R&D leaders, includingOur Iceberg is Melting and Managing Humans.

Who did you talk to at lunch yesterday and what did you talk about?

I attended a training session as an early adopter for a new performance management system here at SAS.

What do you do to unwind after a long day’s work?

My family likes board games and cards. When I’m unwinding alone, I like Food Network TV and the reading I mentioned.

What did you learn today?

I learned in some customer service instances, computers seem to be in the way of folks actually solving problems. If they can’t find it in the computer they just don’t know what to do. I knew this, but unfortunately I’ve seen it highlighted this week.
