12 sweet seasons of giving

0

Since 2012, the SAS Health Center Center and VETS Employee Inclusion Group have been collecting and donating leftover and excess Halloween candy. This year marked the 12th annual candy drive, and SAS families showed up with their candy-coated generosity once again, tipping the scales at 400 pounds of candy.

To date, SAS families have donated a jaw-dropping 4,918 pounds of candy! For more staggering statistics, check out these Visual Analytics dashboards created by Miranda Thomas, Software Developer on the Interactive Experiences team.

What happened to ALL that candy?

We are happy to report that all candy was donated to Support Our Troops, an organization that supports troops and their families by providing care and comfort items as well as expressions of gratitude for their service.

Keith Stallings, a SAS retiree and affiliate of Support Our Troops, shared his gratitude for the copious amounts of candy that were donated this year: “Support Our Troops was thrilled to  get your delivery! Thanks again for all SAS does to ensure that our troops get a little holiday cheer!"

What a truly great season of giving! Thank you, SAS!
