Hobnob with your fellow wizards

The countdown to Analytics 2012 is on! In less than two months, hundreds of analytics professionals will converge on Las Vegas to learn, network and even have some fun. If you haven’t registered, this blog post might give you some incentive to do so. Many of our speakers and sponsors attend the conference year after year, so we asked them what they’re looking forward to at the 2012 conference. Here’s what they had to say:

Networking, meeting more innovators, hearing what is challenging businesses today. -Emmett Cox, BBVA Compass

A chance to hobnob with my fellow wizards, see old friends and former colleagues, and learn about new developments. –Ross Bettinger, Modern Analytics

I am looking forward to seeing the innovative ways others in the industry are using SAS to solve their analytic needs.  –Paul Grasso, Chico’s FAS

I am looking forward to learning more about what is hot in analytics and the corresponding case studies -David Liebskind, GE Capital

Networking with my peers and listening to some of the other thought leaders. I am very excited to hear other thought leaders present their point of view. It will be enlightening and inspirational and I will probably learn a lot that I can apply to human capital.  -Gene Pease, Capital Analytics Inc.

I am actually looking most forward to presenting.  I have not presented to a broad audience on this particular topic before, and I am looking forward to the feedback and questions I will get.  I am also looking forward to meeting lots of new analytics professionals and getting a chance to hear about new approaches and ideas.  Every SAS Conference I have ever attended has left an impact on me. -Steve VanWieren, Ultimate Software

I always enjoy catching up with people and usually end up talking to someone in an area I have never heard about and learning about new problems. - Jeff Zeanah, Z Solutions

Personally, what I’m looking forward to the most is meeting people. I love to put a face with a name. And I love seeing our repeat attendees year after year. Also, attending an educational event always energizes me. It re-ignites my passion for what I do. I return to my office with new ideas I can’t wait to implement and knowledge I can’t wait to share with my coworkers. And, of course, I love getting out of the office for a change of scenery. It allows me to focus on what I came to accomplish. (Although some might argue that Las Vegas isn’t exactly a distraction-free destination. But, I can handle it!)

There’s a lot to look forward to this year. Since learning is a big part of why people attend, SAS training is offered before and after the conference.

It’s all happening October 8-9 so there’s still time to register.
