Anyone that keeps up with this blog knows that I'm quite fond of my SAS books. So the thought of having an electronic copy of a book seemed a bit daunting at first. But, while at PHARMSUG this past May, I was fortunate enough to be awarded a Kindle from SAS.
I was chosen from many participants for contributing to 'The Innovation Wall' at the conference -- a place where we could all share how we were using SAS on a day-to-day basis. Because I was a student scholarship winner, SAS Publishing also provided me with the opportunity to receive a copy of The Little SAS Book for my Kindle.
At first, I was a little hesitant at the thought of accessing a SAS book this way, but I was quickly hooked. Now, I'm used to having an actual book right in front of me, being able to flip through the pages, but this [the Kindle]was so much better. It's extremely user-friendly, and easy to read.
My favorite thing about having a SAS book on the Kindle? The ability to quickly search for something. When I'm coding and get stuck on something, instead of searching through pages to find the answer, I simply type in a phrase or word that I'm looking for, and it searches for me, providing me with a quick list of all occurrences in the book. In addition, I can still access the internet from my Kindle and look up SAS documentation!
Now although I do love the way all of my SAS books flow together on a shelf, I could definitely get used to having my own little SAS library in the palm of my hands.
