When we combine two powerhouse conferences to create the Analytics Conference Series, we think you’ll find the whole to be greater than the sum of its parts. Starting this year, SAS Education's annual Business Forecasting Conference is joining forces with the massively popular annual Data Mining Conference to create the Analytics 2011 conference series.

This educational conference series, which also will include events in Europe and Asia Pacific in 2012, covers not only data mining and forecasting, but text analytics, data visualization, operations research, predictive modeling and data optimization. There will be a broad array of learning and training experiences as well as expanded networking opportunities for analytics professionals of every stripe.

Save the date!
This inaugural event takes place in Orlando, at the JW Marriott on October 24-25. Pre- and post-conference training will also be available.

Are you a student?
Our two popular student events from the annual Data Mining Conference, the poster competition and the Data Mining Shootout, will still be a large component of the Analytics Conference.

Enter the student poster contest for a chance to win an all-inclusive trip to Orlando to attend the conference. Poster abstracts must be received by August 19, 2011.

SAS, the Central Michigan University Research Corporation, and Ford Motor Company are teaming up to offer the data mining academic community an opportunity to put their skills to the test. The fifth annual Data Mining Shootout gives student and faculty teams the opportunity to solve a real-world data mining problem. The team with the best solution will win a cash prize and a trip to the conference. Register by July 15, 2011.

Michele Reister has worked in the Education Division at SAS since 2004. Michele holds a BS in Management and Information Technology from Daniel Webster College and an MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
