Statistical Analysis for Better Tasting Wine

1

In this video, M2010 Data Mining Conference keynote speaker, Dr. Simon Sheather compares classification trees and logistic regression and discusses situations in which logistic regression is expected to outperform classification trees and vice versa.

In 2001, Dr. Sheather was named an honorary fellow of the American Statistical Association. Since 2006, Simon has been listed on ISIHighlyCited.com, among the top one-half of one percent of all mathematical scientists, in terms of citations of his published work.

Simon not only uses his experience and knowledge to help clients from a range of industries including banking, biotechnology, hospitality, fashion, transport, real estate, consumer products and government. Simon, along with his colleague Mike Speed (the M2010 Conference co-chair) are in the process of starting a small vineyard in central Texas in order to produce a French style Rosé. And, of course they will be applying statistical methods to produce the best wine possible!
