Introducing our SASonality

11

Before the two most recent SAS Global Forums, I wrote posts introducing you to SAS presenters and SAS user presenters. In 2009 (my first SAS Global Forum), I wrote the SAS Presenters Series and introduced SAS professionals including I-Kong Fu, Chris Hemedinger and Daniel Jahn. In 2010, the introductions included users Michael Raithel, Gongwei Chen and Jean Balent and a chairside view into their presentations. I got a lot of great feedback from the blog posts, but I want to take it a step further.

I don’t like guessing!
SAS Global Forum 2011 is still a few months away, so I’m still building out my editorial calendar. To get things rolling, I’ve requested interviews with some interesting people who have agreed to give you a peek at their SASonality.

But, I’d like to know which past or current presenter or SAS professional you want to know more about? Think through your list of past presenters. And, as we near the conference date (April 4-7), check back here to decide if there are current presenters who are outstanding candidates to learn more about.

Send me an e-mail or tweet with your suggestions and the reason he or she should be interviewed. You can also post a comment on this blog.

As a matter of fact, I spoke with Ron today. He has agreed to an interview and will be sending me a photo right away. Ron is a very interesting SAS user. I would say that Ron Fehd has SASonality in Spades. Be sure you read his story.

  2. Shelley Sessoms just signed up young SASer Toby Dunn to write a book for us. He's sharp with a great sense of humor.

    Shelly,
Thank you so much for adding Carole’s name. Some people are shy about posting to the blog so they are sending me DMs on Twitter. Still a great way to let me know your ideas!
And I'm getting tons: Richard Koopmann, Phil Holland, Carole Jesse, Dr. AnnMaria DeMars, Sy Truong, Rick Wicklin, Phil Miller, Don Henderson, Lex Jansen.
It should be an all-star lineup! Keep them coming.
Do you know a young SAS user who is a real SAS rock star?

  4. Love this idea, Waynette! Have a few names to toss into the ring (or is that toss into the hat): Super SAS users & always engaging Carole Jesse & Annmaria. Also think Sy is a great! We'll have lots of authors there but I'm not sure who is presenting yet...

Thanks Resa. I agree with you both and Sy has agreed. Today, I will put together a set of questions for him to answer. Do either of you - or others in our audience - have something you would like to ask?

    Annmaria,
Sy is a great suggestion. I didn't even know about his charity work. I'm sure everyone will be as excited to learn more about that as I am. Thank you for suggesting him.

  7. Sy Truong - the work he is doing on SAS on iPhone, blackberry & iPad is interesting and his charity work is touching
