I have submitted a SAS User Group paper for the Seattle Conference in 2010 but thought I'd go ahead and provide a couple of quick notes for those of you going ahead with it now :)
- If default authorization, small number of users & databases, no BI content (WRS, InfoMaps, etc) - then no need to migrate
- If changing host systems or modifying the architecture's structure - the migration utility will be of no assistance to you.
- If you have been storing 9.1.3 Metadata Backups anywhere in the 9.1.3 Configuration Folder, move them before running the Utility.

Going from 9.1.3 to 9.1.3, you can export and import metadata elements, however there is no 'easy' migration utility to do this for you. A piecemeal of SPK export packages will tide you over.If you are going from 9.1.3 1box to 9.2 3box configuration, the migration utility is also of no assistance. The Migration Utility is really there to easily move users from an identical environment on 9.1.3 to the new version.
I'm finding the same thing. I just reinstalled 9.1.3 on a new set of servers. I'm running 1 instance of SAS with 3 configurations, dev/test/prod and as much as I see about how this can be done I don't see any utilities that actually recognize this type of a deployment. When we go to 9.2 we are going to 64-bit so I guess I'm back to doing it manually.
