It's no secret that the Raleigh area is a great place to work, live and raise a family. One visit to the rtp blog gives you an idea of just how good it is. I love how the banner display underneath the blog's header ticks off of a list of the area's many best-of awards, including:
- #1 Best Business Climate (NC) — Site Selection
- #1 Best Place for Business & Careers (Raleigh) – Forbes
- #1 Strongest Job Market in the Nation (Raleigh-Cary) – Manpower
- #4 America's Brainiest Place to Live (Raleigh) – CNNMoney.com
- #15 Most Innovative City in North America (Raleigh-Durham) – Business Insider
And the lists go on. Given all these pronouncements, you can imagine that the competition for being the best of anything business or technology related within the region might be a little stiff. I mean, the Triangle area is littered with successful technology executives. Not to mention the many successful technology executives in Charlotte, Greensboro and other big cities in the state.
So when the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) names the semi-finalists for its Tech Executive of the Year, you know you're looking at the best of the best. This year, the association's finalists are:
- Keith Collins, Senior Vice President and CTO, SAS
- Ping Fu, President & CEO, Geomagic
- Keith Luedeman, CEO, goodmortgage.com
- Scott Wingo, CEO & Co-Founder, ChannelAdvisor
You know what's next, right? A plea to vote! Go to the NCTA voting page, read the bios of these four executives, and vote for one of them. Polls are open until October 15, and you can vote once a day. You don't even have to live in North Carolina to cast your vote.
And no, I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. Your vote is your own. Just be sure to take a few moments to look very carefully at the picture here before heading over to the NCTA site to cast your vote.
