The answers are in the art

Recently, we’ve been working with meeting facilitators at our Power Series events who set up these giant white boards and document discussions among attendees in a very compelling and artistic fashion. You can get an idea of what I’m talking about by reading this recent post on the sascom voices blog or scan the photos on this event recap.

The feedback from attendees has been so positive that I’m really looking forward to attending the next Power Series event in Chicago on July 13 with Tom Davenport as a co-presenter.

I’ve become used to sharing ideas here on this blog and even seeing myself in YouTube videos, but having my thoughts documented on the fly with bright dry-erase markers surrounded by inquisitive stick figures will be something completely new.

The best part, though, is that it’s not just my thoughts and Tom’s thoughts that get thrown up on the board. Everyone at these events is an equal participant. And the images I’ve seen coming out of the events are documenting practical tips and answers to some of the toughest questions we see asked by organizations every day:

  • How do we create an analytic culture?
  • How do we get IT and the business to work better together?
  • How do we make better use of information inside the organization?

If these are the types of questions you ask in your organization, consider attending one of the Power Series events with us – and look for your answers in the art.
