The bookstore is a happening place at SAS Global Forum. You can shop onsite and save money on books, mingle with 30+ SAS authors, try to win giveaways (hint: follow @SASPublishing on Twitter and monitor the SAS Global Forum hashtag #SASGF12 and/or enter a couple of surveys) and chat with friendly SAS Publishing reps about pretty much anything you want to discuss.
Besides stopping by to browse, shop, or converse – there are two publications-related discussions in the demo room that you may want to sign up to attend:
- Writing a SAS Book—What Do I Need to Know? Led by SAS Press author recruiter Shelley Sessoms. Wednesday, April 25, 8:30 AM–9:30 AM. Shelley’s been recruiting SAS authors for many years and is looking for writers to cover a variety of book topics. Plus, she’ll fill you in on everything you need to know about submitting your proposal and the mostly easy breezy publishing process.
- SAS Documentation. Led by SAS senior director of documentation development Gary Meek. Wednesday, April 25, 8:30 AM–9:30 AM. If you’d like to share your thoughts with SAS writers about what works and doesn’t work in recent changes to documentation or provide ideas for apps, sign up to talk to Gary Meek!
In addition to considering the two sessions above, take a look at SAS Press editor-in-chief Julie Platt's excellent preview of SAS Publishing’s many planned activities at SAS Global Forum. And if you aren’t able to attend this year, we always welcome your feedback about our program and offerings. You can even leave a comment or question here.
