OLAP Viewing Issues in Enterprise Guide - All Metadata Permission Related

0

"The cube has too few dimensions." - is related to Metadata Permissions on the cubes. When completing a refresh of the cube with full PROC OLAP syntax, the metadata permissions get removed on the individual cube. If this is the common practice (to run full PROC OLAP Syntax), it is recommended to assign permissions at a higher level.

Instructions on how to do this, as well as other (related cause) error messages are mentioned in the SAS KB 14626.

These specific error messages are available below for quick reference:

  • Invalid cube. No dimensions found in this cube.
  • No data fields are available in the OLAP Cube.
  • No permissions to access cube.

See my much earlier post about how to refresh OLAP cubes without executing the entire syntax: https://blogs.sas.com/content/bi/2005/08/29/refreshing-olap-cubes/
