SAS JMP Configurations for Business Intelligence

2

Three different setups for SAS JMP are listed below. Upwards compatibility (i.e. level 1 to 2) available, downwards less likely (like we know STPs are not).

  • Level 1. SAS JMP and SAS Base installed and licensed on individual desktop/laptop.
  • Level 2. SAS Integration Technologies installed on server, SAS JMP installed on client. SAS JMP connects to Workspace Srv to run jobs. Users can open and view sas data tables from client environment. Security is addressed via host authentication.
  • Level 3. SAS Metadata and SAS Stored Process services are installed on server, SAS JMP installed on client. (in addition features in to level 2 setup) Security is addressed through SAS Metadata. SAS Stored Processes can be run via the SAS JMP client interface.

      Zeelan,
I am definitely not a JMP user but my understanding is that you can save a JMP report as .sas code to convert it to a SAS Stored Process. To deploy to the IDP, I would suggest saving out to the webserver (using ODS?) and then using the URL display portlet in IDP to show the report.

Does anyone else have tips for Zeelan?

      ~ Angela
