Upcoming SAS Talks session for SAS programmers

6

I'm pleased to announce that I'll be presenting another SAS Talks session on January 27th, 2011 (this month!).

This talk will focus on the cool stuff in SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3, especially for the SAS programmer. Here's some of what you'll learn about:

  • Syntax suggestion and autocomplete for the SAS language.
  • Integrated syntax reference help.
  • A program "tidy" feature to format your programs for readability.
  • A SAS code analyzer to create a process-flow view from your existing programs.

Note: this is different than my previous SAS Talk, SAS Enterprise Guide for the Programmer: What's in it for Me?. During that session, we talked about how SAS programmers can get more done by using the built-in features of SAS Enterprise Guide, covering programming tasks and point-and-click features alike. See the Q&A follow-up to review what we learned.

This upcoming talk, in contrast, is especially for the coders out there (you know who you are). Not a coder? Tune in anyway and I promise you'll learn something useful!

    Good topics!
Do you record the session somehow? It's a bit early for us here down under

  2. •Syntax suggestion and autocomplete for the SAS language.

I primarily program in SAS, but sometimes I can't recall whether an option is on the PROC statement or the MODEL statement, and other piddly annoyances. The syntax suggestion feature-- that's just too cool.

  3. Peter,

Yes, of course it will be recorded and then become one of the many on-demand SAS Talks that we offer on the support.sas.com site.

I agree. I find it easier to figure out now...
