Every minute matters: Helping healthcare pros accelerate time to value

0

Transformations are taking place in the life science and healthcare industries, and they’re drastically changing how care is delivered. There’s a shift from the traditional model, with its dependence on siloed systems, to integrated environments that improve communication, promote collaboration and inspire innovative ways of treating the people that matter most—the patients.

This evolution into “The New Health Economy” includes the contributions d-Wise Technologies is making.

As a SAS Managed Analytic Services Provider (MASP), d-Wise has direct access to analytical services and expertise that help clients accelerate time to value. That access adds greatly to the data and process automation services hospitals, pharmaceutical and insurance companies all covet. In other words, the goal is to ensure clients create smarter, more efficient workflows by helping them make the most informed decisions possible.

“The typical timelines are always getting shorter,” d-Wise CEO John Leveille says. “That’s one of the big challenges with the increasing complexity and volumes of data.”

Turning to d-Wise, pharmaceutical clients can bring drugs to market faster. According to FDAReview.org, the process typically takes anywhere from 11 to 14 years. d-Wise is also helping hospitals and insurance companies reduce costs. Not long ago, annual U.S. healthcare spending was projected to surpass $10,000 per person for the first time.

Among the services d-Wise provides is the ability to de-identify data. The company’s solution, which improves the safety of patient records, uses SAS technology that’s only available to MASP program members.

Leveille says the SAS and Intel partnership that powers the technology is a game-changer. It used to take d-Wise months to build the software and deploy it on-premise. Hosting a powerful solution with built-in analytics has transformed a lengthy timeline into a window of weeks, in some cases days.

And because d-Wise gets its products to market faster, clients are up and running on analytical solutions in a fraction of the time.

The value d-Wise delivers can’t be understated. While federal and international regulations create unique challenges for pharma and healthcare, they face the same reality: Data is increasing in both volume and complexity, making the jobs of information processing and analytics extremely difficult. This has created a market for companies that not only know how to handle data volume and complexity, but identify the valuable insight in that data to drive informed decision-making.

d-Wise is a long-time SAS partner. And the MASP program adds a new dimension to that partnership.
