The SAS Partner Program is deepening the breadth of one of its top tier relationships. This summer, SAS signed an agreement to allow Teradata to resell a wide range of SAS software. Teradata, a global leader in data warehousing and a SAS Platinum Partner, has been a SAS technology partner for the past nine years in which the companies have worked together to deliver customers an analytics platform optimized for the Teradata environment. SAS and Teradata have sold jointly on more than 450 deals, across more than 250 customers.
The new relationship expands the technology partnership and “sell with” strategy to enable SAS to take advantage of Teradata’s strong IT relationships and extend and augment SAS sales efforts in accounts. Teradata will be able to resell specific SAS products in non-government accounts in most regions, with the exception of Mexico, Central America, South America, South Africa, Israel and the Middle East.
Both the SAS and Teradata Account Managers receive credit for sales closed by Teradata. The SAS Account Managers/Executives receive 140 percent of the net First Year Fees to SAS. The Teradata Account Manager will receive sales credit for the SAS Software deal including SAS First Year Fees, Renewal Year Fees and Professional Services.
“Our new relationship with Teradata is a great endorsement of our continued efforts to build and grow our Partner Program,” said Scott VanValkenburgh, Sr. Director of Alliances, SAS. “Our strategy is guided by the philosophy that channel sales should be additive to the joint direct sales. The reseller strategy is focused on building a win/win/win for SAS, Teradata, and the customer.”
For the past nine years, SAS and Teradata’s technology alliance has been focused on optimizing the SAS analytics experience in the Teradata Unified Data Architecture. The partnership has attempted to reduce data movement, preserve the user experience and maintain standards, all of which includes enabling SAS analytics in a box with integrated data management, providing a data management environment supporting enterprise analytics, and leveraging customer tools and resources.
