Brian Corcoran is the Director of Research and Development for the JMP Host Group at SAS. This group develops the features of JMP outside of the statistics and visualization platforms. Corcoran is responsible for database access, Excel and SPSS file import, automation and Windows graphics. He is a member of IEEE. Corcoran has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in the same subject from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
The Excel Import Wizard was introduced in JMP 11 for Windows. The goal of the Wizard was to simplify the task of importing data that often did not follow the rule of “line 1 contains headers, line 2 starts the data.” The feedback we've received suggests that we were successful.
