A snapshot of SCSUG 2012

I’ve just returned from my third regional conference this year…SCSUG in Houston. We had great attendance; 207 folks registered for the event! And several of our authors were there: Kirk Lafler, Sanjay Matange and Cynthia Zender. SAS’ very own Paul Kent gave the keynote address on big data and high performance analytics.

The Demo Room was abuzz with activity. SAS Books had a steady stream of folks browsing our books and upcoming titles. We offered a 20% discount and even held a Twitter give-away for two popular titles.

I presented two Super Demos at this conference. Both were on how to author with SAS. These are great ways to have in-depth conversations with attendees, and I hope some of the folks who attended will submit their own book proposal.

If you didn’t make it to SCSUG or any of the other regionals this year, make plans to attend next year. They are a great way to interact with SAS folks (employees and customers) in a small setting. Some of my best conversations happen at the regionals. See you in 2013!
