Will JR text?

Although many of you may not own up to it, I bet you watched at least one episode of Dallas in the early ‘80s. I haven’t yet seen the reboot of the series, but plan to. Dallas’ “Who Shot JR?” plotline, as well as the contrived writing-off of an entire season due to a dream, put this show on the world’s cultural radar. The BBC even (surprisingly) discussed the revival of the program on the radio today, so perhaps I’m in good company.

While the main characters are now a bit older, they are crucial to Dallas 2.0. The successful integration of iconic 1980s characters in a 2012 setting is risky but possible. A lot will depend on the skillfulness of the writers.

SAS software has been around a long time (since the mid-1970s) and SAS Publications has produced supporting documentation and books for almost as long. As SAS has evolved, so have our offerings. Many of our popular titles have multiple editions, while the writers have remained the same in most cases. And in the past few years we’ve begun creating eBook versions of several of our books as well.

Although it remains to be seen if Dallas can make the leap to 2012, our authors and books definitely have.
