What’s in It for You? 5 Reasons to Read SAS Publishing’s Blog

1

As the new editor of SAS Publishing’s blog, I’m a bit nervous about this first post. Besides following in the footsteps of former blog editor and new SAS Social Media Manager Kirsten Hamstra, I’m attending the Blogging Success Summit 2011 presented by some of the best bloggers in the business. I have a lot to live up to.

But you can help me out by reading this post and submitting comments, by tweeting me at @SASPublishing, or by introducing yourself in person at SAS Global Forum in Las Vegas (look for me in the social media area of the demo room floor).

Now enough about me. This blog is for you. And here are 5 reasons why I think you should keep reading:

  1. Pick up useful technical tips from a variety of SAS experts: SAS Press authors, SAS users, and super smart SAS colleagues.
  2. Be one of the first to hear about upcoming books, promotions, free Webinars, and documentation.
  3. Discover what topics our acquisition editors are looking for and how you can submit your own book proposal to us.
  4. Learn about developments in the publishing industry and how we’re making content available in the ways you want to get it.
  5. Get to know our authors, staff, and other SAS users.

I look forward to getting to know you and what you are most interested in!

  1. Hi Shelly, and congrats on the new gig!
Social media is the new Wild West, and I'm sure there will be no shortage of excitement right here on the pages of SAS Publishing's blog.
And now, to get the conversation rolling, I have a question:
Can we all work together to come up with a word other than "blog" to describe this incredibly cool new literary medium we have brought into existence with our collective collaborative energies?
    Thanks, and enjoy!
