So we are in Web Report Studio, need to create a filter, can't remember the values and want to see them to select them, but the 'Get Values' button is grey'd out? Argh!

All that is required is a simple modification to the Information Map. If you go to the Data Item Properties for that variable, you can change the default 'User enters values (no list of values is provided)' to either 'User selects values from a dynamic list' or '... from a static list (defined below).

Wa-la, the 'Get Values' button is now enabled.

NOTE! Users could experience performance delays using the 'dynamic list' option. Consciously decide which selected method should be used for that variable. This is great for constantly changing values (such as Customer Names), but not needed for static items (such as States, County Names, etc).
