'Tis the season

1

This is surely an exciting season, not just because Santa’s on his way and there’s a new year around the corner, but also because an exciting new book from SAS Press has just been published.

Veteran SAS Press author Sandra Schlotzhauer has followed up her Elementary Statistics Using JMP and the previous two editions of SAS System for Elementary Statistical Analysis (co-authored with Ramon Littel) with a thoroughly updated new edition of the latter, entitled Elementary Statistics Using SAS.

Here for the first time in a single volume are both an introduction to the general principles of statistics and a how-to guide to applying the latest SAS software to those principles. Sandra covers all the basic issues involving elementary statistics and SAS, including writing and submitting SAS programs, creating SAS data sets, and understanding frequency tables and graphs. She explains correlation and regression, regression diagnostics, t tests, ANOVA, the Chi square of independence, and lots more. And she does it all in clear easy-to-understand language with simple examples even the beginner can grasp right away. As one reviewer said, “Even if you are new to statistics and computers, you soon will be recording research data, writing SAS programs, and interpreting the results.” So, if you’ve got a budding SAS statistician on your Christmas list, what better gift than Elementary Statistics Using SAS?
