So what do you do when you create metadata that cannot be currently managed via the SAS Management Console? Take for instance the Theme Deployments for the Portal. The standard is alright, but what company wanted their measures all to be printed with the 'SAS Portal' words on the top left? If you have taken a look at the Theme Deployment steps on the SAS Support site, it's not for the faint hearted. Running into trouble is possible for instance you deployed something last month and the darn company changed the logo, but you didn't save last months code elsewhere and forgot the behind the scenes theme name to make updates in future code - but no one would ever do that :)
Never fear! Metabrowse is here. A little known fact (unless a nice Technical Service rep walks you through this) is that you can review your metadata from a BASE SAS window. Gotta love that BASE SAS, why should we move to EG? (Oops, wasn't suppose to say that.)
In the image below, you'll notice I typed in 'metabrowse' in the command line and clicked the execute button. After being prompted for metadata server connection information, I opened up the SoftwareComponent tree and scrolled down to the Deployed Theme. Then I can retrieve any information on crazy names I forgot to remember, lol.
