SAS Service Pack 4 is Out!

Here are a few major points with the new SP4 install:

  1. Make sure you are logged in with the SAME user account that initially installed the system. A quick check in the "Start -> Program File -> SAS -> <bi config folder> ->" location can show you. If you haven't changed the Start Menu, this folder should contain all of the batch scripts for starting/stopping the various SAS Servers (Metadata, OLAP, Object Spawner, etc).
  2. Double check the Third Party System Requirements on SAS Website: http://support.sas.com/documentation/configuration/thirdpartysupport/v913sp4/thirdparty913sp4.html
  3. Install the JRE FIRST - no matter how antsy you are to install SAS.
  4. Individual Components are available after the SP4 upgrade on the Client-side Component CDs. Information Map Studio, SAS Web Report Studio, SAS Enterprise Guide, etc will be located there.

  1. There are no enhancements to the BI Manager - In fact two defects have been raised.1) Under Unix, the Store Processes get transferred in addition to the metadata.2) A checkbox will be added to BI Manager offering the user the option to migrate the Stored Processes over.

  2. Do you know if SP4 brings ehancements on batch exportation/importation of metadata. For example, batch importation of WRS reports metadata (exported with BI Manager) would be usefull.THanks.
