Open an OLAP Cube through SAS Portal

2

From SAS Portal, after you log in you can click Search on the top right, type in the OLAP Cube name, choose 'Information Map' and click 'Search'. There might be multiple OLAP cubes available - but pay attention to the paths. Those located in the following file structure are preferred. They offer the same capabilities as the SAS Web OLAP Viewer (for Java).

\BIP Tree\SASGeneratedMaps\SASMain - OLAP Schema
Of course, you can create your own information maps of cubes, but it was discovered this week that certain features (such as Percent of Total) are no longer available to the user when you open these.

  1. Hi Angela,
I have tried the method you described, but I don't know why I still can't see the cubes. Even after I drill down the SAS folders to the one I know has cubes, they just don't want show themselves to the portal. BTW, I have no problem viewing the cubes using WRS or EG.

    Thanks,
    Haikuo

The original post was written in 2006. Since then this functionality has been removed. In order to open an OLAP cube from the Portal, you will need to create an Information Map and then open that from Portal.

      Good luck,
      Angela
