Normal.dot Workaround in SAS Add-in to Microsoft Office - Word

0

A few of the SAS AMO users in my facility (including me) have run into problems around SAS's interation with the normal.dot file. SAS Add-in to Microsoft Office uses the normal.dot as a performance improvement mechanism. SAS stores toolbar and menu information into normal.dot to keep from loading every time Word opens.

We are running Windows 2000 with Office 2003 (typically) - and as I mentioned this problem has only been seen at a few of the users machines. So I'm not really sure why we are getting into these problems, but there is a mechanism to improve this.

Move to the folder: C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Delete the file: normal.dot
