Some of the best ideas don't start with a finished solution. They start with a problem worth solving and the opportunity to experiment.

The SAS Hackathon is a monthlong global innovation experience that brings together partners, customers and SAS experts to tackle real business challenges using data and AI. Along the way, participants gain new skills, build relationships and create solutions with lasting impact.

For SAS Partners, the value can extend well beyond the solution built during the Hackathon. Partners have used the experience to explore new markets, test ideas, strengthen customer relationships and build new skills.

At SAS Innovate in Texas, partners shared what they gained from participating in the 2025 SAS Hackathon.
Their experiences point to common themes that make the Hackathon valuable for SAS partners, including:

Expanding into new markets

SAS Hackathon challenges teams to think beyond their focus areas and explore how their expertise can be applied to new industries and use cases. For many partners, a Hackathon project is a way to uncover customer needs and develop solutions that drive business growth.

Testing and showcasing new innovations

Partners bring innovative ideas and expertise to the table and the Hackathon gives them the environment to validate concepts and showcase what's possible. With access to SAS® Viya® and mentorship from SAS experts, participants can turn their ideas into a working solution. They also gain a platform to demonstrate their creativity and technical knowledge to a global audience.

Collaborating with customers to solve business challenges

Some of the most successful Hackathon teams are those that work directly with customers. Together, they tackle challenges and bring new perspectives to problems that organizations have struggled to solve. Their collaboration strengthens customer relationships and working side by side, partners gain deeper insight into customer needs and can help solve their most pressing challenges.

Learning by doing

Technology moves quickly, and the Hackathon offers a hands-on way for new and experienced users to build skills and explore the latest SAS capabilities. Teams learn by applying technology to real-world use cases, with mentors and technical experts throughout the process. Many participants also use the Hackathon to develop expertise and strengthen confidence working with SAS technology.

See for yourself

The SAS Hackathon is an opportunity to discover new markets, explore innovative ideas, collaborate closely with customers and learn more about the latest SAS software.

Every year, SAS Partners show what's possible when expertise, curiosity and innovation come together. If you're ready to challenge your team and turn great ideas into meaningful outcomes, the SAS Hackathon is the place to start. Register by Sept. 14.
