On the heels of Teradata's recent Database 14.10 news and last week’s SAS news, we thought it would be good to update customers, prospects and our analytics community as to what’s up lately with the Teradata and SAS Partnership. The partnership is stronger than ever and the joint offerings are more relevant to the ever-changing needs of the market. We are delivering analytic insight to our customers at the speed of business. Companies globally and across all industries continue to validate the value of the joint alliance strategy that our organizations started investing in more than six years ago, and for good reason: they know they can explore and analyze any size, type or complexity of data  leveraging our joint solutions – and achieve an unmatched acceleration of highly-accurate  insight and analytic power for the business .

Best-of-breed + tight integration and innovation was the motivation for our alliance in 2007 and remains the primary strategy we continue to deliver on today.

Our innovations just keep coming, and they span integrated products plus an integrated architecture that provides joint customers an end-to-end solution portfolio consumable in full or by module.   Most recently the partnership launched the industry’s first in-database Data Quality product.  This enables customers to cleanse and correct data within the database with no costly data movement.

In May, Teradata launched the industry’s only purpose-built appliance for SAS® High Performance Analytics, the 720.  This jointly designed solution further supplements the joint SAS and Teradata analytic architecture, adding new options for optimizing in-database analytics.

SAS Visual Analytics uniquely runs on Teradata and provides the only industry solution that doesn’t require the copy of data; rather, embedding the in-memory performance within the Teradata EDW architecture.

There are also a host of SAS industry applications specifically for Teradata now available from the partnership including SAS Communication Industry Analytics and three financial applications.  And stay tuned: expect breaking news from us in the big data and big analytics space in the weeks ahead.

That’s why the partnership has won hundreds of orders and is impacting customers’ performance around the globe.  And that customer demand is growing, with many customers placing additional orders. These mutual customers are the global 2000 customers and often the leaders in their respective industries, across all verticals.

In short, our award-winning partnership continues to flourish and innovate as opportunities explode and we evolve SAS in-memory analytics on Teradata offerings and extend our in-database capabilities. The strength and capabilities of the Teradata-SAS Partnership are formidable – but we are only just beginning of what’s to come.  For more information, read about the SAS and Teradata partnership here.  And, be on the lookout for some exciting news regarding this partnership and Hadoop later in October!
