"Unless you understand the data aspects of the problem, you're not going to be able to solve it." ~ Thornton May, IT futurist and author of The New Know.

In this brief video interview excerpt, Thornton suggests four tips for solving problems analytically:

  1. Focus on the pressing issues of the enterprise.
  2. Ask, "What do I need to know?"
  3. Ask, "What can I know?"
  4. Find a partner/vendor who is committed to analytical problem solving.

Hear more from Thornton in the full interview about analytics, big data and high performance computing.
