SAS at the 2017 INFORMS Annual Meeting

SAS will be represented by more than 20 attendees at the INFORMS Annual Meeting at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GBCC) in Houston, Texas. Officially the conference runs from Sunday, Oct. 22 through Wednesday, Oct. 25, but our activities in Houston start even earlier.

Technology Workshops on Saturday, October 21:

  • "JMP Pro and the Predictive Modeling Workflow," (1:00-3:30pm, room 330A)
  • "Solving Business Problems with SAS Analytics and OPTMODEL," (4:00-6:30pm, room 330A)

Two additional important notes:

  • Patricia Neri is the 2017 Daniel H. Wagner Prize chair, with presentations in sessions MB40, MC40, and MD40. The winner will be announced and the winning presentation will be repeated during keynote session TK04.
  • Sertalp Bilal Çay will chair session WC83.

Principal Product Manager

Ed Hughes is the Product Manager for SAS/OR, which includes software for optimization, simulation, scheduling, and other operations research analytic methods. He works closely with SAS/OR R&D to guide software development and also works regularly with our customers and salespeople to determine how SAS and SAS/OR can best address their needs. Ed has worked for SAS Institute and has been involved with SAS/OR since 1986. He has an M.S. in Operations Research from UNC-Chapel Hill and a B.A. in Mathematics from Franklin & Marshall College. In his spare time, Ed enjoys announcing sports at Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, NC and playing goalie for the Chiefs, an ice hockey team in Wake Forest, NC.
