We have moved: goodbye Bright Data, welcome Hidden Insights

0

Nearly two years ago, we launched the Bright Data blog platform to serve the Central East Europe region of SAS. It was designed to enable us to discuss and share ideas with customers in the region, around issues such as analytics, customer intelligence, risk and data management. And, indeed, Bright Data has served us well over that period.

We have blogged and posted in both English and local languages, and engaged with customers and each other around analytics and data science. We have discussed a wide range of subjects, including data quality monitoring, the impact of new data privacy standards, and standards for data visualization, as well as the lessons from the first football World Cup in Brazil!

But times are changing, and it is time to move on.

Analytics is coming of age. Interest in big data, predictive analytics, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence is intensifying around the world. Our customers in over 100 countries in the EMEA region are raising similar issues, and trying to solve many common problems. It no longer makes sense to have a blogging platform that focuses on, when subject matter experts and customers alike across a much bigger region are grappling with the same questions.

Hidden Insights

Sharing our experience and expertise more widely is vital.

We are therefore joining forces with the Hidden Insights team, to draw from a larger pool of subject matter experts and share ideas more widely. Learning from each other is one of the best ways to stay abreast of developments, and help our customers to get ahead.

Moving from ‘Bright Data’ to ‘Hidden Insights’ is not a matter of hiding our light under a bushel. It is, however, more than just a name-change. It is a recognition that there is a growing understanding that data must be explored and examined to provide insights, many of which are hidden from immediate view, at least at first sight. Only by doing so can we really generate value from analytics, and help our customers to get full value from their data.

On Hidden Insights, we will continue to publish in local languages as and when appropriate. However, as we draw on experts from more than 100 countries, it is inevitable that English will become the common language for knowledge-sharing, and therefore that more blogs will be published in English.

Hidden Insights is already providing a home for articles and ideas from across the EMEA region.

The ideas span big data, machine learning, predictive analytics, IoT and artificial intelligence. However, the articles have a common focus on how companies and organisations can learn more from data, and therefore make better decisions.

We hope you will join us there, and join the conversations.
