What a great series idea. I've been thinking about doing a SAS using SAS story for sascom magazine, so I'll be paying attention to your posts on this topic. What else would I like to know? What are the business users doing with the reports from the Knowledge Management center?
At SAS, we "dogfood" our stuff all over the place.
Here's one example from me: http://blogs.sas.com/sasdummy/index.php?/archives/44-Mmm,-dogfood.html Chris Great to hear two things:
1) that Emily is still at SAS. I recall her great work in R&D for SAS/Access 2) that 9.2 will deliver performance improvements for batch processing. 25% improvement over an entire DW update suite is far better than the "don't expect any performance improvement" we had heard locally. Could Emily please tell us whether this was IO or CPU performance improvement? Hi Mike,
It's great to hear from you and I'm glad you're still involved with SAS projects. The 25% improvement we noticed is in CPU and elapsed time and we saw this type of improvement in most of our large batch jobs. Memory usage increased by 5% - 8% so we've switched to SAS 9.2 for all of our production and development usage. |
