I love "the book of words", aka the "Factual Material" I would tell people to read in (*RTFM*). I loved it even more when it was made of cellulose and had that beautiful smell when you opened it at a random page.
CDs don't quite do it for me, but were essential when I started to travel with SAS. Sometimes a client would not allow access to the internet, and it was very helpful then to pull out my SAS8.2 help disks. SAS9 brought documentation into the installation and kept my documentation where I needed it, and I didn't mind that the documentation disks weren't updated. However, Enterprise Guide emerged and when I was on a PC that had only E.G., and no internet access, the product documentation was not available for my code nodes. Having a separate disk in the SAS9 install set that is a browsable documentation set would be very helpful for we Paladins who may be cut off from support.sas.com when we most need it. |
ABOUT THIS BLOG Welcome to the blog about SAS online support. Renee Harper (that's me) will keep you up-to-date about new and updated content on support.sas.com, as well as support services and software releases. I'll try to include relevant examples you can use -- sample programs and information about how others use SAS. I’ll be able to do this better if you join me – this is a place to share your ideas, successes, and frustrations.QuicksearchCategoriesThe blog content appearing on this site does not necessarily represent the opinions of SAS.
