SAS says that, "SAS is the recognized leader in business analytics software, which delivers the right information – at the right time – to empower fact-based decisions at every level of your enterprise."
I agree; but, with respect, being the leader may be insufficient to satisfy the information needs of corporate executives. The next challenge for SAS is to use the right enterprise structure for maintaining information for making decisions. Suggestion: adopt and align business analytics with the corporate planning structure of the enterprise. For example, adopt the Michael E. Porter methodology for corporate planning, group planning, business unit planning, and horizontal (cost center) planning. Additionally, link to external information sources, such as www.eCompetitors.com, to provide objective industry information at the line-of-business level to link with competitive intelligence information. SAS is in a very strong position to take the lead in the convergence of business analytics with corporate planning and competitive intelligence automation. And for some evolving industry keywords, how about: Corporate Planning & Business Analytics Platform solutions?" - it may even get the CEO, the CIO, and the corporate planner to agree on something.
