Interesting, in the US when you rent an apartment they always come with a refrigerator, stove, sink, the whole nine yards. I can see the moving trucks now in Germany :D
Hello Matthew,
from a native german - my congrat's to your posting! I love it! A very well done description! If you are looking for a REAL BAD shopping experience over here: try to buy a new kitchen. Always the offers are 25-30% over the defined budget and they always need 2-4 appointments after the first installment to fix 'minor issues'... And the most used words are 'extra', 'additional','premium',... :-) :-) :-) Your article reminds me on a time I did my very best to help a US collague in making their 'landing' in Germany a bit more comfortable. It wasn't that easy but I appreciated the experience. However, I hope you enjoyed your time in Germany anyway. And keep in mind that mostly it is much easier for you to be send to Germany than the oher way arround! Cheers and best wishes Thomas |
