New SAS Clinical Trials Programmer Certification

2

If you have visited our SAS Global Certification webpage lately, you may have noticed that we have a new credential in development: the SAS Certified Clinical Trials Programmer using SAS9. Clinical Trials Programmers create programs that analyze the data collected during the clinical trial of a new medication or treatment and SAS is the de facto industry standard for clinical data analysis and reporting in the life sciences industry. This new SAS certification credential focuses on the use of SAS programming skills applied to clinical trials data analysis and reporting.

We began this project in response to ongoing requests from our customers for a way to validate important skills and knowledge for this job role. With such broad interest in this certification, we were able to assemble a team of experts from pharmaceutical companies, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), Academic Research Organizations (AROs) and industry consultants to partner with us to develop this credential. Our team is made up of clinical trials programming practitioners and hiring managers and has been diligently working to develop the specific exam objectives and write the exam questions. The energy and passion this team has brought to the project has earned a great deal of appreciation from everyone on the SAS Global Certification team.

We are nearly complete with the main development effort, and are now preparing for the beta phase.  Are you interested in helping?  If so,please consider applying for the beta exam. We will be selecting candidates from the applicant pool and issuing vouchers in early April for the beta exam, available in May. Please
review the list of exam objectives to determine if you have the relevant skills for the exam.
