I LOVE to read. Six months ago, it was “bah humbug” for me when it came to eBooks. I want my print books! Then I got the Apple iPhone for Christmas and whoa, now I love reading online. Have you tried it yet?
SAS Publishing Operations is working with the Amazon Kindle program to provide SAS customers with electronic editions of SAS Press books. Now you can read more than 25 SAS Press books on your computer with the free application for your Windows PC from Amazon Kindle - no Kindle required.
Yes, with the Kindle App for the PC, you can purchase your favorite SAS Press title from the Kindle store and read it electronically on your PC! Visit our site to see a list of SAS Press books available as Kindle editions.
Amazon has an app for the iPhone as well, but it’s “bah humbug” for me when it comes to reading a technical book on an iPhone. I don’t recommend that yet….but the technology is moving forward rapidly, so maybe I’ll write again later and recommend that app as well. Stay tuned.
Oh, and please let me know if you don’t find your favorite SAS Press book in a Kindle edition. You can find me on Twitter or leave a comment on our Facebook page.

Sounds good, thanks!
Hi Martin, You can access SAS Press titles now on the Linux platform through an individual subscription to Safari Books Online. http://www.safaribooksonline.com Go to the Getting Started page. And coming later this year (~3rd quarter) Google will be selling digital editions of SAS Press books that should work on any machine that has a browser. Sandy
Hi Matt, The second edition of Ron's book, SAS Functions by Example, will be available in April and will be sent to the Kindle. The author contract on the first edition did not include permission for digital delivery. Once the new book is released in April, give the Kindle ~90 days to post the book. I'm sure you'll be pleased with the updated version. Sandy
Sandy,
Any chance of getting Ron Cody's SAS Functions by Example on the Kindle?
Hi, will there be another format available for Linux users?
Hi Martin, Yes, Amazon does have an app for the Mac. http://www.littleurl.net/60423e. Linux, not yet that I can find. Sandy
Thanks, but what about Linux and Mac users?
