Lost yearbook found on SAS campus reunited with tornado survivor

This is a story about survival. It is a story about the memories that sustain us in hard times. It is a story about the power of the weak tie. It is a story about kindness, and the small acts that can make a difference. It is the story of a yearbook that traveled 50 miles in a storm and found its way home again through the same Web site that - for many - acts as a modern day yearbook itself.

When SAS Communications Specialist Shannon Heath read about the yearbook that was found on SAS Campus during storm cleanup, she thought, "If this was mine, I'd want it back. And why not try Facebook - it's reconnected me with so many people from my past, surely we can locate this woman."

  1. This is a touching story - the fact that one person reached out and that social media helped make the connection. My prayers go out to the family and I hope her son makes a full recovery.
