Gathering knowledge stock for the Nordic winter

1

Even though the calendar says it is summer time , the weather is not on the same page - at least not here in Copenhagen. That makes me think of the approaching winter and how animals prepare for it by gathering food stocks. We humans should fill our knowledge stock to stay comfortable at work all year long.

Perhaps you were one of the many who tuned in on our webinars in freezing January when we started introducing them to Nordic SAS FANS. They provided short tips and tricks to inspire SAS users to gain more value from their SAS Software.

The topics covered have mainly been around programming, Visual Analytics, Machine Learning and general Admin tasks - covering some every day issues and helping you become more productive.

It was great fun and we got a fantastic feedback. This encouraged us to continue the journey.

Moving on to next season

To continue developing webinars that meet your needs even better, we have collected and prioritized feedback from each webinar, the comments from our mini-demo's at the Nordic SAS User Forum, and the questions and comments on the SAS User Community - not to forget the feedback we get when we meet the users in person.

So what will the next season of the SAS Nordic FANS Webinar program look like?

The webinars are intended to inspire to use SAS software better and for SAS Nordic FANS to interact online with short comments or questions. They cover different SAS tools in the following primary areas:

  • Tips&tricks using SAS Programming and how to improve performance of your SAS programs
  • Getting hold of data. But how to - that is what Data Management is about
  • Data without Analytics is just data - how can data be analysed to bring insight
  • Business Intelligence is all about making insight from data available to more users
  • Its critical to have a secure, robust and governed Enterprise Platform - Administration is needed
  • SAS Viya brings many new tools and possibilities - let's explore those new possibilities in both SAS94 and SAS Viya.
  • Other various topics of using SAS Software

It is your turn to give input

We need to prepare for the winter, so we are working hard to evaluate and plan for the coming season. As the webinars are made for you, we want to hear your opinion:  What would be the most important and interesting topics you would like to gather to your knowledge stock? Please also comment on whether an hour/half-hour, morning/afternoon etc. is better - what day of the week, what time and what frequency would work best for you?

Act now - It's your opportunity to influence the webinar program - Submit your ideas to us in the SAS Community.

"Inspiring #SASNordicFANS to maximize their value from SAS Software" When working with data in many shapes as an SAS programmer since 1994 I have from many projects got great insights into the many ways data and SAS are used to support many different processes and decisions – From acquiring data and making sure the data quality will not be an issue for the analytics and reporting. When you are working with data not everything is perfect – especially not the time you are allocated to do the job, therefore you need tools and skills that accelerate this process. Some solutions will have a very short lifetime being born as an ad hoc question, while others might by critical to the organization in real-time decisions used by Customers. What a great job working with all these possibilities trying to expand usage and value of SAS and data!
